| The love and commitment for my artistic work are the spaces and tima in which I search for a poetic voice in my deep inwardness, these often are "places" where I relate the dreams and the needs and where I reconcile nostalgia, emptiness, restlessness with tenderness and the joy of inspiration with the pleasure of expressing it, like a prayer.
Work of Letizia Cortini is together cultured and light. As she paint, as she realize collage or sculpture, the artist delimit a void place and give life to it with a succession of appearences, of figures, symbols that float on air between slim copper or iron wire, the same that Calder and Picasso used with much effect. Pictures are often cut on print paper, thin and bare presences from strong symbolic valency, and they hover in surroundings covered by soft spirals, stripes of variegated flags or numbers, as a village festival or an old luna-park. There is the memory of the roundabouts and the rope-walkers, there are playing cards with their enigmatic figures that refer to hazard. The silouettes well defined in coloured but transparent sorroundings remember the playful futurism of Depero, certain scenography of Bauhaus, with an added of surrealist sections for free and fantasy colour matching. Cortini is animate to a playful spirit and she enjoin herself with authoritative citation with a will of fly that leak out a sincere requirement of poetry. Alessandra Chiappini |  |
