| We find ourselves in front,
of the artists own discourse - the small objects of very little value
installed inside the large transparent boxes and the variegated images
reflect a great variety of significance inviting us to open
interpretation and meditation. The dice - an object of decision for vitory
or defeat - in innocent childhood games or in the risk of adult life are
now silent and still as is the intimate of the artist, never again can
they be protagonist of our destiny. Milena Cubracovich artist The playing cards and the dice are, in particular, the metaphors of uncertainty and destiny,
but they also represent ability and fortune in all "games".
I often discover and elaborate, through art, the difficult moments of human existance and growth,
so I intentionally exalt then though the eyes and disposition of a child. Initially what strikes most in these works is the material component so
amusing and decorative - a collage of tangled wires, playing cards, old photographs
and cuttings from magazines recalling the spirit of surrealism or dadaism. |
